The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe within the SWG EC project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration” supported the organization of the regional event: “Drina Fish Pot 2015” which will be organized on 20.09.2015, in Visegrad, Republic of Srpska, Bosna and Herzegovina.
“Drina Fish Pot” has been organized for the last 10 years. Since 2012, the Tourist Organization of Visegrad took over the organization of the manifestation. It is a regional event, which brings together participants from municipalities from the Drina river banks from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as neighboring municipalities from Serbia and which promotes historical and cultural heritage, as well as traditional gastronomy offer of the region. The event is organized on the plateau next to the famous Mehmet pasha Bridge, protected as a UNESCO world heritage site, which contributes to the promotion of the touristic image of the Visegrad municipality. Visitors of the manifestation usually visit other tourist destinations around the cross-border region “Drina-Tara”, like Mokra Gora and the mountains Tara and Zlatibor in Serbia, which together with Visegrad crates a tourist ring.
