The Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations as part of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture – GFFA (established by the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and the German economy in order to stress future subjects concerning sustainable development of the agriculture and food-industry on the national, as well as on the European level) in co-operation with the SWG is organizing a panel discussion on: “Modernization partnership South Eastern Europe – increasing efficiency, protecting resources – Perspectives of a cooperation between Germany and the South Eastern European countries”.

The event is intended for high ranking representatives of politics and economy from Germany and the region and will take place at the international Congress Centrum in Berlin (ICC, room 8, from 3 – 5 P.M. on January 19th) as part of the world largest consumers’ show – the International Green Week Fair.

The program is comprised of two parts: During the first part, the Ministers of Agriculture from Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia will discuss current questions related to their respective modernization policy on agriculture and food-industry. The second part of the event will be concentrated on a discussion about entrepreneurial strategies and the possibilities of an intensified cooperation between Germany and the region by high-ranking representatives of politics and economy.
Participation of the SWG delegation at the GFFA 2012 panel is supported by GIZ.

At the same time, this issue of the International Green Week will be another opportunity for promotion of the SWG activities. Traditionally, the SWG Head Office/Secretariat will offer the information for its activities and services to the public on a stand during the one day event “Cooperation Market” on January 21st.
