Regional Expert Advisory Working Group Meeting on: “Regional water and forest management in South Eastern Europe – Future Regional Actions in SEE”, 12 – 15 March 2013, Gmunden, Austria

The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management of Austria will organize a meeting on: “Regional water and forest management in South Eastern Europe – Future Regional Actions in SEE”.

The meeting will take part from 12-15 March 2013 in Gmunden, Austria and is targeted for the members of the Regional Expert Advisory Working Group which has been established as a SEE regional platform for strengthening the cooperation between the water and the forest sectors (based on the proposition which came as a result from the Feasibility Study prepared during the SWG-GIZ project on Strengthening regional cooperation and networking in the forestry and water management sector and sustainable development in the river basins of the South-Eastern Europe countries 2012.

The focus of this Regional expert advisory working group is the harmonization with/and implementation of relevant EU legislation, including the design, financing and implementation of concrete cross-border projects and initiatives on best management practices on river basins.

In particular, the aim of this working group meeting is to discuss the designed project concepts and the actions for their future implementation as well as to elaborate the possibilities for future cooperation with relevant international organizations/institutions.
