The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of the Kosovo* and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group in South-East Europe (SWG) will jointly host the traditional annual working meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture from South-East Europe. The 6th (sixth) Ministers’ meeting will take part from 15th to 17th of November in Pristina.
The meeting will be opened by Kosovo’s Prime Minister – Hashim Thaci and will be led by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of the Kosovo* – Blerand Stavileci who will on this occasion take over the presidency with the SWG from his Macedonian colleague – Ljupco Dimovski.
The general objective of the meeting on which, beside the Ministerial delegations from the Region, high representatives of the European Commission, FAO, GIZ and other donor institutions will participate, is to discuss regional cooperation and reforms in the sector of agriculture and rural development in the direction of EU integration and pre-accession aid.
Through the discussion related to the reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy and the EU’s rural development policy for the period 2014-2020, the Ministers will closely look back to the conclusions that were adopted during the regional Agricultural Policy Forum held last month in Ohrid under the auspices of the Macedonian Minister Dimovski.
Above all, those are the strategic proposals for future regional cooperation within the platform of the Standing Working Group on Regional Rural Development in South-East Europe (SWG) as well as cooperation in the region of South-East Europe through the concept of area based development.
Within the working meeting of the Ministers, visit to several agricultural enterprises and processing facilities in *Kosovo is envisaged.
