Study tour: “Rural development by sustainable management of forests and water”, 09-14 June in Austria and Germany


In order to introduce the representatives from South Eastern Europe with the successful examples of rural development by sustainable management of forests and water, the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development (SWG) in SEE in close cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Austrian Natural Resources Management and International Cooperation Agency (ANRICA) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry Environment and Water Management of Austria will organize a study tour.

The study tour is mainly intended for the members of the regional expert advisory working group on water and forest management in SEE and will take place from the 9th until the 14th of June in Austria and Germany.

The participants will have opportunity to see and learn more about successful models of mutual understanding and cooperation among the stakeholders, regional actions implemented in function to sustainable water and forest management and economic growth of rural areas, in particular taking care of the cross-border aspects.

Beside this, the regional expert advisory working group will meet to discuss the further elaboration of the project concepts which were presented and assessed during the last meeting in March 2013 in Gmunden, Austria.
