The objective of the project is to contribute to the diversification of economic activities in rural areas of SEE through strengthening selected value chains in specific cross-border regions. The aims to develop sustainable business models in structurally weak border regions through improvement of the production and marketing of agricultural and wild products, local crafts and culinary traditions, sustainable tourism. Support is provided through different capacity building measures, facilitation of the cooperation and networking processes along the value chains and targeted investment support to relevant key stakeholders.

The kick-off Meeting of the REAWG on EC-RT gathered experts and relevant ministries’ representatives to discuss the concept and methodology for the work of the REAWG. The objective of the group is to develop a regional approach for the assessment of the policies for diversification of economic activities in the rural areas of the SEE, with focus on rural tourism development, as well as to propose policy framework for economic diversification through rural tourism in line with EU policies.

The kick-off Meeting of the Regional Expert Advisory Working Group (REAWG) on Quality Policy gathered experts and relevant ministries’ representatives to discuss the concept and methodology for the work of the REAWG. The objective of the REAWG is preparation of overview of requirements and implementation of the EU schemes of geographical indications and traditional specialties and of the state of the art in the SEE countries/territories. This assignment is part of the SEDRA project implemented by SWG and GIZ.
