The Beans Days is organized by the Center for Education and Development – CED from Tearce and it first started in 2010. For all these years it brings together people from different backgrounds, ethnic groups, confessions, social status, cultures, etc. The main goal of the event is to promote different cultural values through traditional food, traditional dancing, presenting the natural beauties of the region, local agricultural products, etc.
For this year, besides the usual activities as boiling beans, making halva, and chestnuts, there will be a cultural artistic part where cultural artistic associations (Albanian, Macedonian and Turkish) will perform, as well as musical talents from the municipality of Tearce and wider. The event will take place on the 24th of September 2016 in the courtyard of the primary school “Kiril Pejcinovic” – Tearce, starting at 12:00h.
Traditional food will be prepared by the children from the primary schools of the municipality of Tearce and from this year it will involve several schools from Jegunovce and Tetovo, which will prepare an art work made out of beans – a mosaique. This years’ agenda will also include the guests from Kavadarci, representing one of the most famous events in Macedonia -”Grozdober”; a presentation from the platform “Friends of Sharra” on the natural beauties of Sharr Mountain and the proclaimation of Sharra as National Park, and many other stands with traditional food and products from the farmers from Macedonia and Kosovo*.
This activity is part of the European Union funded project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration” implemented by the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe and is related to facilitation of ABD approach in the cross border region “Sharra”.
