The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe in partnership with Germain Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) within the project: “Diversification of economic activities in rural areas of Southeast Europe through value chain development” will support the organization of the Capacity building event: Honey a cure for long life which will be organized by Beekeeping association “Prijepolje” and which will be held in a period 3 till 4 August 2019 in Prijepolje, Serbia.
The aim of this Event is development and diversification of economic activities in rural areas, improving the economic situation and competitiveness of beekeeping sector, promotion of entrepreneurial skills and self-employment as well as connecting beekeepers with potential markets.
The specific objective of this Event is to promote and improve beekeeping sector through organization of the exhibition, professional lectures, exchange of knowledge and experience, cooperation and meeting of beekeepers and beekeeper’s organizations.
This Event will contribute to better valorisation and usage of potentials of the rural areas, improvement and strengthening of competitiveness of beekeeping and achievement of bigger quantities of honey and beekeeping products at the local and regional market. Exchange of experience and new knowledge between beekeepers from Serbia and region will contribute to creation and strengthening connections of traditional products and tourism value chain in the cross-border area.
