“Empowering Rural Stakeholders” – outcomes from Multi country traveling WS-s and the Concluding Conference, 31 March – 2 April 2014 (Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia) and 8 April 2014, Brussels, Belgium


The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in the Southeast Europe and the PREPARE Partnership for Rural Europe jointly initiated an event entitled: “Empowering rural stakeholders: Mainstreaming participation of stakeholders in development and implementation of agriculture and rural development policies in the Western Balkans and Turkey”.

The aim of this intervention was to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between governments and rural stakeholders, and partnerships between public, private and civil sectors at sub-regional level and to raise awareness of LEADER Local Action Groups on opportunities in relevant policy and decision making on a national level.

The event was organized by TAIEX (Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument of the EC) was structured in 2 stages:

Stage 1: Parallel traveling workshops in 3 hosting countries (Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia) which were realized in the period from March 31st – April 2nd, and

Stage 2: Closing Conference in Brussels, realized on April 8th 2014.
