Recommended reading: Food Quality Policy – Schemes of Geographical Indications and Traditional Specialities in South East Europe


SWG and GIZ, within the program “Support to economic diversification of rural areas in Southeast Europe (SEDRA)”, recently published this assessment which focuses on the current national legislative and institutional status in South East Europe countries/territories and their gaps identification, highlighting the necessary changes, reforms and harmonization of the legal basis in respect to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and food quality schemes as the Geographical Indications. Moreover, assessment was made on the essential role of the small food producers and identification of their key issues and challenges, as well as the trends of quality food protection in the SEE countries/territories.
