More than 40 exhibitors and more than 3000 visitors participated at the 2nd ”Exhibition of agro-rural products” organized by the Municipality of Prizren on June 20th 2014. The event is part of the Local Development Strategy of the Municipality.
The event provided direct support to small and medium size businesses in the region of Sharra, respectively by promotion of the local food and agro-food value chains.
Mainly primary agricultural products were exhibited such as: vegetables(cucumbers, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, lettuce), soft fruits – raspberry and blackberry, milk and eggs; Honey and other bee products; Processed products: dairy – white and yellow cheese, cream, yogurt; Beverages – water, juice and other soft drinks; Horticultural products and many other.
This year, the organization of the event was supported by the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe. The funds were made available from the SWG EC project: “Preparation for implementation of the Area Based Development (ABD) Approach in the Western Balkans – 2nd phase” activities related to promotion of People-to-People actions in the target cross-border areas.
All exhibitors stated that they are familiarized with SWG activities in EC ABDA project and most of them expressed their interested to join and to actively participate in the work of the SHG from “Sharra” cross-border region. The communication with interested potential members of the SHG will continue in the premises of “Sharra” Project Management Unit based in Prizren.
