“Saborsko prelo – Interactive workshops on traditional handcrafts”, 17th September, 2017 in Trsic, Loznica, Serbia

The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group in South-Eastern Europe Europe within the SWG GIZ project “Rural development through integrated forest and water resources management in Southeast Europe: Rural perspectives: qualification, reintegration and (self) employment” supported the organization of the regional event “Saborsko prelo – Interactive workshops on traditional handcrafts”, which was organized by the Tourism organization of Loznica, as part of the manifestation “Vukov Sabor”.

The aim of the regional event “Saborsko prelo” was education of women on how to start their own business by producing of traditional handicrafts. In total five workshops were organized. The primary goal of this event was the economic empowerment of women by providing interactive lecture for making handicrafts and finding possibilities for their sale in the form of authentic souvenirs.

The regional event “Saborsko prelo – Interactive workshops on traditional handcrafts” contributed to the promotion of rural tourism in the cross-border region “Drina-Sava” and promotion of traditional handicrafts as an opportunity for self – employment.
