The 28th SWG Assembly Session was held in Gmunden, Austria from 4th to 8th December 2013.
One day study visit on rural development sites in Almtal region in Austria was organized by the hosts – the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and ANRICA on December 5th. The topic of the study tour was renewable energies and sustainable water and forestry management.
The aim of the 28th SWG Assembly session was to discuss the achievements in the year 2013, to plan the SWG activities for 2014, to decide on future initiatives, projects and cooperation with SWG partner organizations and institutions. Internal SWG procedures were also subject of the meeting.
Representatives of nine out of eleven SWG member institutions, participated on the session, discussed, gave recommendations and have taken decisions for the future.
Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management of Austria and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hungary participated on the session as observers. Representatives from the SWG partner institutions and international organizations German International Cooperation (GIZ) and CIHEAM IAMB also participated on the session.
Parallel to the SWG Assembly meeting the members of the Balkan Rural Development Network had their 2nd meeting which aimed at planning of the activities for 2014.
