In order to cope with the rising complexity concerning the design and implementation of policies fostering a sustainable development of rural regions in the SEE, decision-makers and stakeholders from the rural sector need specialist as well as personal competencies.
As the need assessment conducted by InWEnt in cooperation with SWG has emphasised, particularly young professionals and junior executives should be supported in developing and enhancing the respective capacities. This becomes even more important, since there are currently no educational offers dealing explicitly with this subject.
The target group are 20 to 25 young professionals and junior executives from institutions designing and implementing strategies and policies for rural and regional development in the context of EU approximation and integration on national and local level. This can be ministries and their downstream authorities (e.g. ministries of agriculture and those responsible for regional development), universities and educational institutions as well as regional and local Institutions and organisations from civil society. The eligible countries are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo (UNSCR1244), Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
