Agricultural Policy Monitoring

The meeting served as a strategic platform to review and refine the methodological framework used for monitoring agricultural sector developments and agricultural policy instruments in the region.

The meeting once again demonstrated that reliable data and regional cooperation remain key pillars for building modern, EU-aligned agricultural policies across South Eastern Europe.

Future of the Agriculture Policy Dialogue and role of the group was also one of the topics of the meeting and it was concluded that the group will continue and broaden its work in the future to focus also on EU integration issues.

Experts and Ministries representatives from Southeast Europe in the period from 16th to 18th of October 2024 met in Podgorica to finalise the cross-country report regarding the AG Policy Development.. Once again, the Agriculture Policy Dialogue and SWG RRD has established itself as a main reference point for evidence-based policy in the region.

The Second Interim Meeting on Agricultural Policy Monitoring held online on the 24th of June, brought together experts from SEE countries and Moldova to discuss the progress and developments regarding agriculture policy. This activity is part of the Agriculture Policy Dialogue and it is a crucial instrument to the EU Green Agenda and EU CAP alignment.

The objective of the visit was  to familiarize with the Agriculture Outlook of the European Union and to discuss the agriculture policy issues with their colleagues from organizations and institutions from Belgium.
