IAMO Forum 2023: International Agricultural Trade, Geopolitics and Global Food Security

APD Germany – Western Balkans traditionally organizes a session as part of the annual IAMO Forum to disseminate results of its implementation. This year the organized session was called “Crisis-proof food systems in the Western Balkans” and covered current agricultural policy developments, the Western Balkans soil partnership, situation and needs of the rural women and youth, state of Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) and the current developments regarding the EU accession context.

The second International Workshop on sustainable agriculture and green rural development, Banja Luka, B&H

The main goal of organizing this workshop was to put together different stakeholders from Bosnia and Herzegovina and other EU and non-EU EUSAIR countries with the aim to support the EU integration process through sustainable agriculture and green rural development with a particular focus on the adoption of an integrated approach based on the EU Green Deal and the Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategies.

The second dissemination of evidence-based policy recommendations meeting planned to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina is realized in Sarajevo in Foreign Trade of Commerce of Bosnia and Herzegovina premises, organized by SWG in auspices with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This meeting was one of the planned activities within the regional project SEDRA II implemented by GIZ in partnership with SWG.

The objective of the event is to put together different stakeholders from Bosnia and Herzegovina and other EU and non-EU EUSAIR countries with the aim to support the EU integration process through the sustainable agriculture and green rural development with a particular focus on the promotion of innovative start -ups, job opportunities and youth entrepreneurship in rural areas.

Dissemination of Policy Recommendations organized in Podgorica, Montenegro

The event gathered around forty relevant participants: experts and representatives of the public, private and civil sector. Results of assessments of agricultural and rural development policies conducted by the SWG Regional Expert Advisory Working Groups were presented and discussed.
