Soil Partnership

The Standing Working Group on Regional Rural Development as a representative of the Western Balkan Soil Partnership  participated in the European Soil Partnership Meeting, held online on 23–24 April 2026, contributing to European-level discussions on sustainable soil management.

During the 9th Interim meeting on Soil Partnership final reports were discussed and activities for the following period were planned. Also, it was the opportunity to discuss different initiatives, findings from the selected projects as well as to see in practice solution for waste management at the regional landfill Bikovo.

The 8th Interim Meeting of the REAWG on Soil Partnership, was held on the 20th and 21st of June in Durres, Albania. Ministry representatives and experts in soil science and research during these two days discussed the future steps and defined the activities for the group for 2024.

During the meeting representatives of the ministries and engaged experts were discussing about the collection of the available national data on contaminated sites and the overall presentation of the contaminated sites in the region.

The APF 2023 encourages further institutional development of the Western Balkan Soil Partnership as a platform for exchanging knowledge and identifying best practices for safeguarding soil against pollution and degradation, ultimately leading to sustainable soil management.

During the meeting representatives of the ministries and engaged expert were discussing about the collection of the available national soil maps, preparing soil map of the Western Balkans as well as other activities in line with adopted workplan.
