During the meeting representatives of the ministries and engaged expert were discussing about the collection of the available national soil maps, preparing soil map of the Western Balkans as well as other activities in line with adopted workplan.

During the meeting were discussed the steps and activities to further promote Western Balkans soil partnership, to collect the data for the soil map of the Western Balkans as well as to develop proper map of contaminated sites.

Exposure visit: REAWG on Soil, Germany 27th November – 2nd December

The objective of the visit is to familiarize the REAWG on SOIL with the German model of soil protection, monitoring, activities related to remediation of polluted soil, organizational setup, scientific approach to soil etc. During the visit planning activities for the work of REAWG on soil will be conducted.

The aim of the Third Interim Meeting of the REAWG on Soil was to present the analysis done for the region in terms of gaps and recommendations on soil management. It was agreed that a significant effort was done and that the prepared documents can contribute further in developing tools for adequate soil management.

The meeting aims to discuss and present the regional assessment „State of the art of soil management in SEE region”, and the capacity of the Western Balkans for the implementation of the new Soil Strategy for 2030 as well as developing operational plans and actions of REAWG on the Soil. The specific activities regarding the establishment of the Regional soil partnership its role and functions were discussed.
