SWG Assembly Sessions

The 65th SWG Assembly Session is being held in Chișinău, Moldova, bringing together representatives of SWG member institutions under the hospitality of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova. The Session focuses on reviewing recent developments in agriculture and rural development across the region, assessing the implementation of ongoing SWG activities, and discussing priorities under the Operational Plan for 2026.

The 64th Assembly Session focused on reviewing the implementation of the SWG Operational Plan 2025 and discussing and adopting the Operational Plan for 2026.

Key highlights included updates on climate change adaptation in agriculture, sustainable forest management, wine policy, organic production, and the HUMUS HORIZON & REVIVE projects.

The 62nd Assembly Session of the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South Eastern Europe brought together high-level representatives, experts, and stakeholders to discuss ongoing and upcoming regional initiatives, achievements, and strategic priorities in agriculture and rural development.

The SWG Assembly engage in discussions related to the agricultural and rural development policies relevant to the region, with a special emphasis on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. The Green Agenda is a crucial framework for sustainable development in the region, and the Assembly address its integration into national agricultural strategies.

The Assembly focuses on evaluating the progress made between April 2024 and September 2024, discussing the outcomes of the Agricultural Policy Forum 2024, and planning the upcoming SWG Annual Meeting of Ministers from SEE for 2024. In conjunction with the 60th Assembly, the Agriculture Sherpa meeting of the Berlin Process is also being held. SWG Delegates and Berlin Process Agriculture Sherpas made discussion on the draft Declaration on Food and Agriculture.
