Less carbon footprint with instalment of new equipment from solar cells

Motel Aura is located in the urban area in Visegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the main road Belgrade-Trebinje, on the left bank of the river Drina. Motel “Aura” has 9 rooms (single, double and twin with a double bed), which is in total of 20 beds. All rooms are fully equipped heated and have air conditioning, cable TV, minibar and balcony. The hotel organizes one-day cruises through the Drina canyon for all interested guests. However, majority of the visitors of the motel are restaurant guests. In the restaurant traditional meals are preparing for guest of motel but also for all visitors who are visiting this motel. Preparation of traditional meal require lot of electricity and hot water.

Therefore, with the support of SEDRA grant investment, equipment for generating electricity from solar cells was bought (solar panels, photovoltaic cells, boiler and water-to-air heat pump). This investment influenced on sustainability of the motel with reduced bills for electricity and reduce carbon footprint.

The investment is part of the Project: “Diversification of economic activities in rural areas of Southeast Europe through value chain development” implemented by SWG RRD in partnership with GIZ.
