Upgrading the touristic offer within the development of mountain tourism in Prespa region

“Lakeview” is a beautiful and cozy lake-side resort within the heart of the Prespa National Park. The touristic facility “Lakeview” is located on the beach of the beautiful Prespa Lake shared by North Macedonia, Greece, and Albania. Behind the Hotel stands the Galicica National Park with incredible views of the Prespa and Ohrid Lakes at 2,250m above sea level. Tucked between the shore of Lake Prespa and the foot of National Park Galičica, Lakeview and the Nečovski family have been rejuvenating the forgotten paradise.

With the grant investment the touristic facility changed the heating system in the hotel from using wood as fuel, to installing inverter air conditioners for hotel rooms with high economy and energy efficiency as well as upgraded the touristic offer by purchasing of sports equipment kayaks and protective equipment for their use. The goal was to expand the offer, to attract more tourists as well as to increase their length of stay in the region.

The project contributed to the development of mountain tourism in Prespa cross-border region by enriching the tourist offer and environmental protection.

This investment is supported in 2020 within the Project: “Diversification of economic activities in rural areas of Southeast Europe: value chain investment support and capacity building” implemented by SWG RRD in partnership with GIZ.
