The 13th meeting of the Regional Expert Advisory Working Group (REAWG) on Organic Agriculture was held online on 12 March 2026, bringing together representatives from South-East Europe and international partners. The meeting focused on the development of the 2026 Workplan and provided a platform for exchanging updates on EU regulatory alignment, organic market trends, digitalisation, and capacity building.
Participants shared insights from BIOFACH 2026, highlighting evolving EU policies, market opportunities, and challenges such as certification costs and administrative requirements. Country presentations demonstrated continued progress in legislative alignment, digital tools, and sector development, alongside common priorities including market growth, data systems, and support for producers.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of regional cooperation in advancing organic agriculture, with a strong focus on EU alignment, digital transformation, and strengthening organic value chains. Participants agreed on the need to enhance collaboration, improve data exchange, and support the sustainable growth of the organic sector across the South East Europe region.
