The Tenth Interim Meeting of the Regional Expert Advisory Working Group (REAWG) on Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) in Southeast Europe took place in Prizren, Kosovo*, from March 26 to 28, 2025. The event brought together 28 participants, 23 of whom attended in person and five joined online. The meeting began after a field trip to Hit Flores, an organic company located in Dragas, southeastern Kosovo.
The meeting agenda included updates on the advancements made by each participating country regarding AKIS, alongside a Case Study presentation conducted by national experts that focused on actionable steps for establishing an effective AKIS system. Esteemed international experts guided this engaging presentation, providing profound insights and utilizing a dynamic teaching approach to enhance understanding of the subject matter.
During the two-day gathering, the REAWG national teams presented the Work Plan for 2025, which summarised contributions from national experts from SEE countries/territories. The meeting emphasised the significance of conducting Case Studies to derive practical AKIS and the establishment of a Knowledge Repository.
The session concluded with an overview presented by international expert Professor Kasimis, which facilitated further discussions regarding the objectives and strategies pertinent to implementing the SEE AKIS Work Plan for 2025. In the afternoon session, international expert Ms. Ingebauer reviewed the progress made with the Knowledge Repository, assessing the materials compiled by national teams from all SEE countries/territories. The commitment to the establishment of the Knowledge Repository was reiterated, with the SWG pledging to support its ongoing development.
