Developing the organic market in the Western Balkans with close alignment to the Green Agenda for the WB and the EU Integration


The Seventh Interim Meeting of the Regional Expert Advisory Working Group (REAWG) on Organic Agriculture in SEE was held on 13 – 15 March 2024 in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The meeting was organized by the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group in SEE as one of the planned activities in the continuation of the Policy Dialogue Germany – Western Balkans (APD) Implementation Program.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress made in aligning agriculture and rural development policies with the EU’s Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and the CAP 2021-2027. The meeting specifically focused on implementing EU legislation related to organic agriculture and achieving EU Regulation 848/2013 in each of the Southeastern European countries/territories.

The importance of collaboration between national authorities in developing the organic market while closely aligning with the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, the process of European integration, and the EU was emphasized during the meeting.
