Two-day training “Manifestation events as trigger for development of rural areas” have been organized in Kula, Serbia from 11 – 13 October, 2024. Twenty six (26) participants from northern Serbian Province Vojvodina attended the training as a representatives from public and civil sector are responsible for organizing of the manifestations and events in their rural communities.
As previously on the training in the Mountain Zlatibor, focus of the training was on economic benefits and contribution of the manifestation events to tourism and cultural development of the community, valorization of local communities, volunteerism and local community activism, and media promotion (campaign, target groups, public relations). Participants analyzed where they are related to project planning and management, mobilization of the volunteers and involvement of the local community as well as fundraising for their manifestation and evaluation afterwards. All sessions were presented as an interactive exercises with different aspects of the event organization as well as evaluate possible risks and asses their impact during event.
With large support from our stakeholder, LAG” Srce Backe” from Kula, afternoon session of the workshop was organized at the local manifestation “Pumpkin days” which held on Saturday, October 12 in park in downtown Kula. That was great chance to organize group work for participants to analyze and compare specific segments of this manifestation at the spot. Organizers from Women’s Association “Eko-Kula” presented their view on issues related to organizing, fund raising, engagement of volunteers and community.
