The two-day workshop held in Andrijevica, Montenegro from 1st-3rd October, 2024 aimed to enhance the skills of rural tourism businesses in adapting to modern market demands and leveraging digital platforms for improved visibility and sales. Facilitated by Ms. Andjela Djokic and Andja Vukcevic Zoric, the event focused on optimizing online booking channels such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor, teaching participants how to create effective profiles and attract a broader audience.

Participants were trained on providing value-added services to improve guest satisfaction, leading to better reviews and business growth. Special emphasis was placed on the use of Airbnb Experiences, allowing rural providers to promote local culture and unique activities to boost tourism.

A visit to the Rural Household Nikolic provided hands-on insights into successful rural tourism practices, highlighting real-world examples of integrating local culture into guest offerings.

The workshop successfully equipped participants with practical strategies to enhance their rural tourism businesses through improved digital presence and customer service.

This activity is supported by the project: “Promotion of Economic Diversification of Rural Areas in Southeast Europe (SEDRA II) in SEE- Value chain capacity building on agriculture and rural tourism to streamline rural employment opportunities” implemented in partnership by GIZ and SWG.
