On 22–23 September 2026, the Fourth National Workshop titled “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Agricultural Policy: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution – Final Workshop” is being held in Veles, N. Macedonia. The workshop brings together relevant stakeholders and represents the final step in the series of national workshops aimed at contributing to the preparation of a national framework for the effective integration of climate change adaptation into agricultural policy and future strategic frameworks for agriculture and rural development.
The workshop focuses on reviewing the results of the previous workshops, including the identified strategic and specific objectives and proposed adaptation measures, as well as on further grouping and refining these measures. Participants are working together to discuss and confirm a mix of policies, measures, instruments and interventions for climate change adaptation in agriculture, addressing the identified strategic objectives and priorities.
The final workshop also provides an opportunity to consolidate the results of the stakeholder engagement process and define key conclusions on the integration of climate change adaptation into agricultural policy. The programme concludes with a presentation of demonstration trials related to climate change adaptation at the experimental field at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food.
The activity was organized with the support of GIZ and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG), on behalf of the German Government, within the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans.
