From November 12 to 14, a Regional workshop on Marketing Standards and Inspection Procedures for Quality Control of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables took place in Ohrid, North Macedonia, with 21 participants from Western Balkan countries/territories.
The workshop featured a theoretical component covering production standards and best practices, complemented by practical sessions using apples, pears, tomatoes, and sweet paper for hands-on training. Ms. Viera Baricic, an international expert from Slovakia, led the workshop, sharing her extensive knowledge of EU marketing standards.
Participants included staff from the Ministry of Agriculture and various agricultural organisations, benefitting from detailed lectures and practical applications. Staff from the Ministry of Agriculture in Western Balkan countries and the Market Organization of the Fruit and Vegetable Sector and Agriculture and Phytosanitary Border Inspections participated in the workshop. They benefited significantly from detailed lectures on best practices in fresh produce marketing standards.
