The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group in South Eastern Euro and Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (CIHEAM IAMC) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Area of Agriculture, Rural and Economic Development, Environmental Protection and Food Safety.
The purpose of this Memorandum is to further strengthen the cooperation between the Parties in the field of:
- Capacity building;
- Scholarships for students from the Western Balkans;
- Development of institutional structures to promote agriculture, rural development, environmental protection, food safety and quality in rural regions;
- Identification, planning and implementation of trans-national projects;
- Promoting regional know-how;
- Improving sustainable agriculture, rural development, environmental protection and food safety;
- Strengthening regional (transnational) cooperation in the field of agriculture, rural development, environment protection, food safety and quality;
- Joint Networking activities
In the scope of this MoU, Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development (SWG) in SEE will support two (2) participants from each Western Balkan countries/territories, in total twelve (12) scholarship in five scholarship programs for the academic year 2023/2024:
- Master of Science in Business Economics and Management
- Master of Science in Geoinformation in Environmental Management
- Master of Science in Food Quality and Chemistry of Natural Products
- Master of Science in Horticultural Genetics and Biotechnology
- Master of Science in Sustainable Agriculture
