Two national training workshops organized by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Albania to strengthen agricultural extension and advisory services for climate change adaptation. The Third National Workshop was held on 1st of September 2026 at Hotel Hani i Pazarit in Korçë, with 31 participants, while the Fourth National Workshop took place on 2nd of September 2026 at Hotel Fieri in Fier, with 40 participants. The activities were organized within the regional project on climate change adaptation in agriculture and aimed to improve the technical and practical knowledge of extension specialists so they can better support farmers in managing climate risks and applying more sustainable farming practices.
During both workshops, the main topics covered were sustainable soil and water management, climate adaptation in crop production, heat stress management in livestock, and the economic assessment of adaptation measures. Practical measures were presented for maintaining soil fertility, using water more efficiently, managing climate risks in crops and livestock, and assessing the costs, benefits and risks of investments. The workshops also included discussions and exchange of experiences with participants, with the aim of helping them apply the knowledge gained directly in their advisory work with farmers.
