Two-day training “Upgrading of food and beverage presentation in rural tourism facilities”  organized in Hotel Park Karaotok in Hutovo Blato, Bosnia & Herzegovina in a period 26-28 April, 2023. The main goal of the training was to learn about the importance of the presentation of food and upgrading services in tourism. A total of Twenty three (23) participants from Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro attended the training, mostly representatives of small producers and MSMEs who plan to be involved in the tourism industry.

Ms. Andja Vukcevic Zoric, SWG Regional Coordinator, Mr. Djeno Ljevo, chief, and Ms. Milena Andjelic Pistinjat, sommelier conducted the training. The participants gained knowledge of good examples from the field presented by the trainers Mr. Samir Ibisevic, representative of Balkantina doo and Ms. Goradana Stevovic, member of an NGO Rural Tourism Association – tourism in Villages.

Main topics covered during the training:

  • How to present food in their rural tourism facilities;
  • How to improve the offers in rural tourism facilities;
  • The importance of safety standards in preparing food;
  • The importance of added value and storytelling in rural tourism.

During practical work several traditional dishes were prepared and presented in modern way like: Stuffed onions (Sogan dolma), Stuffed Ravioli (Klepe), Rolled veal and rosemary potatoes, Staffed green leave cabbage (Zelena sarma) , Eggplant pâté, Fried bread with eggs (Peskemati), Fried vegetables with cheese, Salty carrot cake and Sweet fig cake.
