GIZ Seminar: “Regional Marketing: Branding of Products and Regions”, 10 – 15 October, 2011, Istria, Croatia

A 6-day seminar on “Regional Marketing: Branding of Products and Regions” will be organized by GIZ in the period from 10th to 15th of October, 2011, in Istria, Republic of Croatia. The seminar is covering one of the components of GIZ programme entitled: “EU Integration of South Eastern Europe” which aims at improving the competencies of the partner organizations in actively constituting and steering the potential oriented and participative regional development of rural areas within the EU approximation process.

Tailored to integrate experiences in Germany and other European countries as well as best practices from South Eastern Europe, which has been developed in the last decades, the seminar is designed for the following Target group:

Participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo (UNSCR 1244), Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia: professionals and decision makers working at institutions/organizations designing and implementing strategies and policies for Regional Rural Development with various professional backgrounds: national level (ministries and down-stream authorities responsible for Regional Rural Development), regional and local level (municipalities, Regional Development agencies within public administration as well as public private partnerships), educational and research institutions as well as civil society, the private sector, NGOs and counterparts of German and international development cooperation in the respective countries!

One of the main objectives of the seminar is to support the participants to understand how to identify and mobilize regional potentials and resources and jointly develop innovative approaches, which support rural regions in becoming strong partners.         The participants will work together and learn how to manage a better integration of regional marketing instruments in their respective regions or institutional set-ups.

Please note that the organizer will cover the costs of training, board and lodging as well as pay a daily allowance. Travel costs have to be covered by the participants themselves or by the organizations/projects/institutions sending participants.
