SWG is working on advancing organic production of grapes and wine and recognition of specificities of the terroir of wine-growing areas in Western Balkans. In addition to the harmonization of relevant legislation with EU regulations, efforts are being invested towards recognition of organic wines.
In this regard, expert analyses and scientific research of the terroir of Western Balkans were carried out and some of the results were presented in the paper “Spatial determination of areas in the Western Balkans region favorable for organic production”, in July 2022 during the 2nd ClimWine Symposium in Bordeaux, France.
