The Second National Workshop in Serbia titled “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Agricultural Policy: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution” was held at Hotel Pegaz in Vrnjačka Banja. The event gathered 38 participants, including representatives of institutions, experts, farmers, and other key stakeholders, as part of the regional initiative “Green Agenda Western Balkans – Supporting the Western Balkan Countries in Adapting to Climate Change.”
The workshop began with opening remarks by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG RRD). This was followed by a presentation of the SWOT analysis by the national experts and an interactive session defining key national objectives for climate change adaptation in agriculture.
Over the course of two days, participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions focused on identifying measures and activities to support the adaptation of agriculture to climate change, along with the necessary conditions for their effective implementation. The discussions emphasized knowledge sharing, practical experiences, and joint problem-solving.
On the second day, the workshop concluded with a session dedicated to summarizing the main findings and conclusions, which will serve as a strategic basis for further national and regional actions.
The activity was organized with the support of GIZ, in cooperation with the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South Eastern Europe (SEE), on behalf of the German Government, within the framework of the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans.
