The second workshop on Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Agricultural Policies: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution took place on September 22, 2025, in Sarajevo, at the premises of the Federal Institute for Agriculture.

The event gathered 25 participants, including representatives of public institutions, academia, professional associations, civil society organizations, and the farming community. The workshop provided an opportunity to bring together knowledge, perspectives, and practical experiences to support the process of integrating climate change adaptation into agricultural policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Discussions focused on several key aspects of the adaptation process. Participants worked jointly on verifying the relevance and roles of different stakeholders in the agricultural sector, ensuring that all important actors are recognized and included in the process. Furthermore, the workshop provided a platform for the verification of the previously developed SWOT analysis, enabling participants to critically assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to climate change adaptation in agriculture.

Building on these insights, participants engaged in group work to identify main and specific goals, as well as concrete actions, that could serve as a foundation for developing effective adaptation strategies. The interactive format of the workshop encouraged dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collective problem-solving, which are essential for shaping policies that are both realistic and inclusive.

The conclusions and proposed next steps from this workshop will contribute to the wider process of policy development and regional cooperation in addressing the impacts of climate change on agriculture.

This activity was organized with the support of GIZ, in cooperation with the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South Eastern Europe (SEE), on behalf of the German Government, within the framework of the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans.
