A national workshop titled “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Agricultural Policies: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution” was held on 13 October 2025 at the Biotechnical Faculty in Podgorica, Montenegro.

The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro (MAFWM), the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG RRD), and the project’s expert team.

The workshop gathered 20 participants, representing governmental institutions, academia, farmers’ organizations, the civil sector, and international partners. Through interactive group work and open discussions, participants jointly validated the list of stakeholders, reviewed and confirmed the SWOT analysis for the agricultural sector, and identified key objectives and actions to strengthen the resilience of Montenegrin agriculture to climate change.

The discussions emphasized the importance of institutional coordination, knowledge sharing, and active stakeholder involvement in designing and implementing effective adaptation measures. The verified results and agreed priorities will serve as a foundation for developing future strategic and operational steps in the national adaptation planning process.

The activity was organized with the support of GIZ and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG), on behalf of the German Government, within the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans.
