The 3rd National Workshop on “Adaptation to Climate Change in Agricultural Policies: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution” took place on February 19-20, 2026, in Prizren, Kosovo*. This event was part of the Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture (CCAA) initiative in the Western Balkans, supported by GIZ and implemented by the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development (SWG).
The workshop brought together representatives from national institutions, sector experts, and key stakeholders to advance the development of evidence-based policies for climate change adaptation in agriculture. Discussions focused on enhancing the transition from analytical work to concrete policy instruments, improving regional cooperation, and building institutional and professional capacities to address climate risks in agriculture.
This event continued the activities held in the previous year, to complete all necessary steps and actions for the preparation of national strategic policy documents in 2026 and complementary action plans aligned with national development priorities and EU policy frameworks.
The Prizren workshop marked a significant step in this process, reaffirming the collective commitment of national institutions, experts, and SWG to develop coherent, coordinated, and actionable policies. These efforts seek to strengthen the resilience of agriculture in the Western Balkans and contribute to long-term sustainable rural development.
