On 10–11 March 2026, the Third National Workshop titled “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Agricultural Policy: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution” was held in Strumica, North Macedonia. The workshop gathered 40 participants and represents a continuation of the previously held national workshops and aims to contribute to the preparation of a national document that will guide the effective integration of climate change adaptation into future strategic frameworks for agriculture and rural development.

During the event, the results from the previous workshops were presented, along with an overview of the existing strategic documents and the identification of key priorities for climate adaptation in agriculture. Participants, including ministry representatives, experts, international organizations, local governments, extension services, agricultural cooperatives and other stakeholders, worked in groups to develop and prioritize potential measures, policy instruments, and interventions for adapting the agricultural sector to climate change, with the goal of establishing a comprehensive policy mix and defining future actions.

The activity was organized with the support of GIZ and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG), on behalf of the German Government, within the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans.
