Founded in 2005 in Gacko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mountaineering club “Volujak” have goal to organize recreational and sport outdoor activities like mountaineering, backpacking, alpinism and speleology, as well as to involve and promote those activities especially among youth and kids. Club is engaged in environmental actions to preserve nature and develop awareness and responsibility among members and citizens.
Mountain home Volujak is a beautiful and modern facility with capacity of 30 beds located in Papin do, Mountain Volujak (between Volujko and Lebršnik), easily reachable with car or minibus by a solid 8 km long macadam road from Čemerno (road Foča-Gacko). It has water and electricity (solar panels, windmill, generator), two toilets and a shower with hot water. Large room for socializing and the use of the full equipped kitchen will make your stay at the mountain very comfortable. The facility is managed and operated by MC “Volujak” and is opened as needed with prior notice. There is dozen hiking trails right next to the lodge, with different levels of difficulty, from easy to extreme.
Within the grant investment Mountaineering club built two mountain bungalows with additional 8 beds. The investment included as well marking of hiking trails in a total length of 7 km. Upgrade of facility and accommodation will attract more visitors to Mountain Volujak, as well will improve the safety of backpackers and mountaineers on this mountain.
