International Conference “Challenges and perspectives of regional development in the Western Balkans”, March 24 – 25, 2022, Prishtina.


Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) of Kosovo* is organizing the international conference, where the main goal is to strengthen communication, increase cooperation between the Western Balkan countries/territories, through the sharing of information, experiences and ideas in policies/legislation, as well as practices in this field.

The conference aims to become a joint regional initiative, where countries set the agenda for events and issues for regular annual discussions.

Mr. Boban Ilic, SWG Secretary General, presented work of SWG RRD which is focused on regional cooperation in the field of agriculture and rural development in the Western Balkans. SWG serves as the facilitator in the process of strengthening regional institutions necessary to support long-term agricultural and rural development policies. SWG work together in order to increase the understanding and awareness about available information and tools, and identify the gaps and discrepancies within the context of regional alliance.

Mr. Tilman Reinhardt, Project Manager, GFA Consulting Group, General Agent of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) presented activities on the Project “Agricultural Policy Dialogue Germany – Western Balkans”.

Mr. Lutz van Elk – Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) as a member of the Regional Expert Advisory Working Group on Wine presented project activities on “Technical Dialogue on Wine in the Western Balkans”.
