The Third National Workshop in Serbia, titled “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Agricultural Policy: Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Contribution”, was held on 9 and 10 February 2026 in Vrnjačka Banja, within the regional initiative “Green Agenda Western Balkans – Supporting the Western Balkan Countries in Adapting to Climate Change.”

The workshop brought together 35 participants from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and related services, with the aim of contributing to the development of National Guidelines for the Adaptation of Agricultural Production to Changed Climate Conditions.

Following opening remarks by representatives of the Ministry and the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development (SWG RRD), national experts presented a SWOT analysis, which served as the basis for defining key national objectives for climate change adaptation in agriculture.

During two days of interactive sessions, participants identified priority adaptation measures and activities, as well as the conditions necessary for their effective implementation, through structured discussions and experience exchange.

The workshop concluded with a summary of key findings, which will serve as a strategic input for further national and regional actions.

The activity was organized with the support of GIZ, in cooperation with the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development (SWG) in South Eastern Europe (SEE), on behalf of the German Government, within the framework of the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans.
