Agricultural household Nikolic from Uzice, Serbia owns the processing facility which is designed and adapted to produce natural fruit juices. For the last five years, Milan and Dragana Nikolic provides service of production of natural and organic apple juices, chokeberry juice, or combining apples with other fruits and vegetables like quince, pear, carrot, beetroot. They are engaged as well in supporting the service of squeezing the fresh fruits delivered by the customers from the whole region.
The purpose of the investment is the procurement of tube pasteurizer and labeling machine to reach bigger and faster production of natural and organic juices and better promotion.
This project will create new working places during the season and will engage at least two seasonal workers, in addition to three permanent household members. The modernization of equipment increased the capacity of the fruit processing itself, and the pasteurization process is much shorter, which greatly facilitates the production itself. Despite the Covid_19 pandemic their business increased by approximately 50% compering with 2019 and reached the production of 12 000 l of juice.
This investment is supported in 2020 within the Project: “Diversification of economic activities in rural areas of Southeast Europe through value chain development” implemented by SWG RRD in partnership with GIZ.
