Support to local manifestations in Prespa cross-border region


Resen is a municipality in southwestern Republic of North Macedonia. Resen is also the name of the town where the municipal seat is found. Resen Municipality is situated in Prespa basin between the two national parks, Pelister and Galichica and the two lakes: Small Prespa and Big Prespa. Resen municipality has a great potential for the development tourism sector and contribution to the regional economic development.

The main goal of the grant investment project was to strengthen local manifestations and events with aim to contribute to better cooperation, networking, and economic links between value chain actors. Resen municipality was supported to procure 42 standardized promotional boots / stands and installation of bike parking stands for approximately 30 bikes.

Within this project, Resen municipality contribute to increase the promotion of value chain in mountain and other tourism development forms through connection of existing manifestations and events in Prespa with local businesses and capacities, which contribute to regional economic development. Also, the project contributes to upgrade and unification of main equipment for promotion and presentation of economic and other subjects which offer different services and products in mountain and rural tourism area.

During the period of pandemic with COVID-19, there wasn’t possibility to organize events and manifestations on which different subject would take part. In the future is expected to conduct events on which local, regional and national subject will take part and they will have possibilities to cooperate and to establish new business links and partnerships.
