Apple days in Gorazde, Bosnia and Herzegovina


The aim of this event is to promote the quality of agricultural products, especially high-quality apples from Gorazde area as well as other traditional products and handicrafts from the Western Balkan region.

This event provided opportunity for networking, cooperation and exchange of information in the field of agricultural production and the food industry. This contributed to preservation of tradition of apple growers which dates to ancient history, when this area was known for fruit production. Around hundred exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring countries participated in the Fair of traditional products.

Eight agricultural schools took part in the knowledge competition, two from Serbia, three from Bosnia and Herzegovina, two from Montenegro and one from North Macedonia. Pupils from the Secondary school “Hasan Kikić” from Gradačac, B&H won the first place, Agricultural and Veterinary school from Svilajnac, Serbia took the second place and the third place place won the pupils from the Agricultural school “Enver Pozderović” from Goražde, B&H. A competition in preparing sweet delights from apples was conducted between hospitality and tourism schools from the region.
