Encouraging Economic Development and Local Innovation in Albania


Workshop Empowering Rural Entrepreneurs: Encouraging Economic Development and Local Innovation was organized by Economic Intelligence Center, on 17th of April in Korca Albania.

Around 70 participants, including local tourism service provider, farmers, educators, young entrepreneurs, had the opportunity to network and develop entrepreneurial skills, increasing visibility, adopt innovative practices and market competitiveness, leading to a more positive rating of their overall business development.

The workshop addressed key aspects of rural entrepreneurship and innovation:

🟢 The potential of using local resources and promoting innovation in rural communities

🟢 Encouraging the entrepreneurial potential of young people and employment opportunities

🟢 Assessing skills in the field of agriculture & tourism for an easier transition to the labor market

Also, this event addressed the unique challenges and opportunities that characterize entrepreneurship in rural settings, with a specific focus on the Korca region with a keen focus on fostering economic development and local innovation.

This activity is supported by the project: “Promotion of Economic Diversification of Rural Areas in Southeast Europe (SEDRA II) in SEE- Value chain capacity building on agriculture and rural tourism to streamline rural employment opportunities” implemented in partnership by Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG RRD) and GIZ North Macedonia.
