Prespa Apple harvest Festival traditionally organized in Resen, North Macedonia


The climate and the quality of soil are key factors for Prespa region to have a long tradition of agriculture One of the most important landmarks of Resen, North Macedonia are the apple orchards, well known for the quality and specific taste of apples. Half of the apples produced in the country are grown in Resen Municipality.

For the 23rd time this event was organized in three consecutive days by the Municipality of Resen. Оn this day, an event is traditionally organized for the ceremonial plucking of the first apple in Prespa, where representatives of local, regional and national institutions and delegations from the state and the region attend. Тhrough the joint performance of local stakeholders, awareness of joint cooperation and strengthening of the value chain of rural tourism and agriculture in Prespa will be raised. Тhrough the promotion of the products and services that were presented at the exhibition stands, visitors from the municipality of Pustec, Albania had the opportunity to create direct contacts and exchange information for further mutual cooperation.
