SWG/ TEMPUS Joint Project KTNetRRD: Knowledge Transfer Network in Western Balkans for Regional Rural Development

The aim of the KTNetRRD project is to support the knowledge transfer and the capacity building in the field of Regional Rural Development by developing and enhancing the involvement of the higher education institutions within the wider society.

The goals of the project, training for public services and development of a lifelong learning structure are answer the regional and national priorities for all involved partner countries for one or both of the above mentioned objectives.

The project outputs a network built of a solid partnership between higher education institutions in the WB region linked with public administration, private sector and NGOs, the KTNetRRD. The network concentrates and brings together the most experienced and ambitious resource people from the Western Balkan Region in the field of Rural Development intending to develop further their expertise in the specialized topic and making the best use of their knowledge for the public and private sectors, extending the university activities by playing an active role in the society it serves.

The structured form of education and training activities of the network is compiled in the Western Balkan School of Regional Rural Development (WBS-RRD). This structure answers in the most suitable way the Regional dimension given to the Rural Development, which should not be understood as Regional Development in the sense of the European Fund for Regional Development but the geographical scale of this approach concerned by Rural Development. The structure is proposed by the network’s faculties of agriculture and managed jointly with the partner administration institutions involved in the project via the Standing Working Group (SWG).
